My family of three stayed in a triple room. I didn't expect such a convenient location. When we came out of exit 4 of the station's escalator, the hotel was right in front of us. The airport bus stop and Seven Eleven were also nearby. Dongdaemun is quieter at night than the Myeongdong area, so we were able to sleep without being bothered by noise. The hotel staff were amazing. They had staff who spoke Japanese, from decent to fluent. The cleaning staff also greeted us with a smile. The entire hotel was clean, and the coin laundry on the ground floor was also in good condition. The breakfast had croissants, and the price was reasonable. There were many restaurants and malls within walking distance, making it very convenient. There was also a WOW pass exchange machine next to the reception, and it was convenient to be able to pay with electronic money at public transportation and restaurants if you made a card. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Seriously, every staff member was kind, polite, and helpful in Japanese with a smile on their face! The room was also very clean and had everything you need, including a refrigerator, hair dryer, and hangers! We were even able to watch YouTube and Netflix on the big TV!! The small shower head in the shower room was amazing. The shampoo and conditioner made my hair silky smooth! The bed was also very comfortable and I slept well every night! The service staff is very good, everyone can speak English. The hotel is very clean, and the cleaning staff is very efficient. The location of the hotel is very good, close to the train station and shopping areas. It is also very convenient to travel to and from the airport by bus. Almost perfect”
I had a great experience here in terms of the location, facilities and comfort. I'd love to return if the opportunity arises. However, I wish to point out some unpleasant parts of my experience. First of all, the stringent check-in policy. I'm aware that check-in is at 3PM, but I do believe, allowing guests to check-in maybe half an hour to an hour before, or as long as the room is ready, were practiced by some hotels as a form of goodwill. The Splaisir's policy was far too rigid, where guests were left to wait, be it sitting, standing or loitering around the lobby until 3PM sharp just to check-in. In my case, I arrived in Seoul at 6AM after a 7-hour long flight. I can't help but to find the wait to be dreadful. I believe that a decent amount of judgement or leniency from the hotel's part could've improved things. Secondly, poor command of English. I've spoken to the front desk in person and via phone, but neither were smooth. I found myself repeating a lot, trying to use different words, or simply speaking in Korean. There were also instances of miscommunication. Asking for a luggage tag which they've already taken hours before, and having to call them again to check on the problem in my room because they did not call back or send anyone over. Getting my message across and communicating weren't easy. When I reflect on my experience, it's sad to say that the biggest letdown from their service were mostly related to 'people'. Of course, not all was bad. Their housekeeping staff were polite and they did a great job on my room every day. When we checked out early due to a flight change, a front desk staff came after us, after checking that we paid for an extra night. Perhaps, these little efforts do make a difference. The 'human touch' and 'attentiveness' do make a difference. Overall, it was still a great stay and I'd love to return someday. I just really hope some improvements could be made. 수고하셨습니다.

Superb location, housekeeping could fare better ”
The location is superb, extremely convenient. The hotel comes across as calculative and not accomodating in certain ways. Did not allow early check in despite being told the room was actually already ready. Insisted extra is paid for early check in Room is very clean however housekeeping can be very inconsistent. Would leave out something different everyday, be it pyjamas, indoor slippers or hand towel..very weird. Saving grace is they respond really fast when called Overall good value cos of the wonderful location, good size and cleanliness
