East Java hotels & places to stay

ts had been my second stay... after trying out other hotels such as shangrila, meridien, java paragon... i have to say ts beats other for its location, amenities and bang for the buck. you can request as many water bottles you want which is also another plus point since i exercise quite regularly and am an avid tea drinker. my only small let down is their front desk staff which i think can be trained more on par with 5 star hotels such as marriott and shang-rila. perhaps 5 out of 6 them don't even greet you and if they smile it seemed pretty forced. a huge let down for someone who learns hospitality because it is the most basic fundamental learning. but then again, there rest of the plus points blew this let down off the shore. will be back for sure.

I was having a great stay here. The hotel is cheap for a 4stars hotel, staffs are very kind and friendly, and also the bedroom is large enough and have awesome view. I came to the hotel on 10 am and we didn't have another destination until 2 pm. So we only took a seat at the hotel lobby. Lucky me, on 11 am, the hotel staff opened a room for me! They said it was empty and ready to use, so we can really early checked-in and take some rest. 😍 Just one disappointment, I booked a non-smoking room in agoda. I also write on special request column for 'non smoking room' in agoda app. But they about gave me a smoking room. Thought we should talk personally to the hotel staff, I request again for a non-smoking room, and the staff gave me a non-smoking room. However, we still got a non-smoking room with the smell of cigarettes. I am pregnant and I avoid strange smells for my baby's health. Maybe the hotel staffs could take an extra time to clean the room, especially the cigarettes smell, so another visitors can get the right room. Little notes from me to another visitor to be : if you want to get into this hotel via taxi or online taxi, just ask them to bring you to 'Somerset hotel'. They will confused if you say Verwood hotel, for former hotel's name was Somerset, and the hotel changes its name just on July 2017. Hope it will be helpful 😍

Excellent is all areas that I would like. Room is not grandeur like a 5 star but good amenities for room and very clean with plenty of towel supplies. Entry at lobby to check-in at reception to room service to breakfast to check-out and even assistance at lobby for my own transport was excellent! Of particular interest were the service from the hotel staff; something is very good abt their training! All had that genuine greeting and smile. Staff at breakfast were attentive to needs like giving serviettes and toothpicks and saw another table where young male staff helped a mother with baby chair and an unsettling baby and he played with baby and helped mother to settle baby in! Breakfast was excellent and the eggs were done and presented very excellently! I give this 6 start! Room service food came warm (unlike many 5 star hotels) and well covered. Food was excellent although not taken directly from restaurant. Will definitely return!

overall we really like this hotel, for a "zoo" hotel and not under a big hotel management, their really shocked us with almost everything... no bad small at all even they have so many animals there, and the best is about their cleanliness, superb like a pro! so it's impossible for an early check in coz they really clean up the room so perfectly, hard to find any dust even @ the balcony... staffs also nice and friendly, i was served by mr. abas (basuki) since i called many times while booking the hotel until the check in process, they really do their best 👍. cons = - i believe 90% of this hotel visitors are bringing their children/babies, it will be best if they really made the hotel become "non smoking hotel" not only inside the room because i still find some "non educated" guy smoking at the pool, lobby, corridors in front of their kids/babies - hot water at shower toilet is just litle warm, not hot at all conclusion : it is a great hotel for a short stay, awesome

Excellent location, within walking distance to shopping mall, stores, Monkasel etc. Easy to find foods, even East Java traditional menus are available near by. Helpful staffs (we came too early but it's no problem to find us available room, the room was even upgraded). Breakfast is good and they serve many option. The hotel is getting old but it is well maintained, and also very clean. Room is spacious.

The best thing is the facilities which are very complete; swimming pool outdoor, indoor, sport arena (basket, badminton, futsal, volleyball), library, karaoke, jacuzzi, sauna, etc, so much worth the price, be sure you have enough time to enjoy all the facilities. The location is also great, 5 minutes walk to jatim park 1, from there you can have shuttle to other jatim park group. Everything went well on our stay, good shower, hot water, clean and comfy bed, spacey room. So much recommended for family holiday.

I think there is not much to say except that I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. I've been to worse 5-star hotels! Nothing to complain about, the restaurant downstairs was really good, live band just nice (not too loud). Too chilly to swim when I was there so didn't try the pool but it definitely looked nice. The staff is really nice as they went out of their way to try to please us. Beware of taxis in Malang: they're impossible to find! Anyway, great hotel. Would love to come back.

Hotel Aria Gajayana is ideally located in the heart of the town of Malang, East Java, Indonesia, only 5 minutes walking to shopping center, sport center, entertainment center and public services as well as a business center and leisure place. This hotel offers its customers exclusive and privacy. Hotels that have this modern building in his room deluxe and suites to deluxe rooms are a little small size plus no dining and living room, if you choose a suite that suite their own living room plus there is no dining table. Plus for breakfast menu very much! Overall this hotel recommend for tourists in the country and a foreign country! Do not forget the hotel is located center of the town and many restaurants and depots around the hotel!

The Royal Orchids Garden Hotel is nicely located in Batu, Malang, East Java. Although this is an aging hotel, its maintenance is quite ok hence its condition is still deemed acceptable. Rooms are spacious, with beds and furnishings that are ok. So is the food. While nothing is spectacular, there's also nothing wrong. Its main attraction would be, I'd say, its pool. Its swimming pool is the best feature of this hotel. The pool is big, with a great view and surrounding air. The pool is also child-friendly. Granted, there are newer and better hotels out there in Batu. But I'd say this hotel remains a good place to consider especially if the pricing is right (as it varies from time to time).

4 stars Hotel with perfect location, just beside Tunjungan Plaza 2. Spacious room with hot tub, hot shower, cable TV (not all channel have clear picture), and a small fridge. Agoda listed it with title "... room only" but with "free breakfast" feature in the description. When I asked frontdesk they said it may be a mistake but they still gave me 2 breakfast coupons. The next day I was stopped at the restaurant, they said they need to confirmed my coupons, but then they let me having my breakfast there, I paid half for my daughter and have a good meals. I confuse, should I feel lucky with 2 coupons or not because the next day I had to get my breakfast outside of the Hotel. "NO free breakfast" The pool was good, my daughter had a good time, but not all the equipment in the gym were in good shape, and the jacuzzi was in "under maintenance" state.

We arrived at the hotel a little before noon on Saturday and front desk give us welcome drink, it’s so refreshing after my long trip Well, All of the staff at the BALAVA treated me like royalty. They all remembered my name and were friendly, like family The room was nicely decorated. clean and quiet. My wife and I enjoyed the roof top bar d’toengkoe Balava is definitely one of the best that I've stayed in East Java I love to stay again if i visit Malang

The hotel is new, so as expected it's clean and smells good. It's close to a shopping mall (Around 10 min walk) and not far from the city centre. There was free WiFi, although the signal was weak from my room, but it wasn't too bad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a little small, but clean. Overall, the hotel was nice and cosy and great value for money, but don't expect too much from it. After all, it's a 4 star hotel (3 stars for my standards), with an affordable price. I would go there again, but I recently found out that Ibis Hotel, not far from Crown Prince Hotel is better and cheaper.

Room was quiet small but very clean. Lighting was good. Aircon was well functioned. Location is very strategic in jember city center. We can go to the legendary Mie Rama by walking. Should improve: - Kind of welcome drink. They gave us ice tea as welcome drink, while other 4 star hotel gave juice / infuse water - Trashbin with foot pedal better than without pedal. - Should provide shower gel as amenities (we only get shampoo without shower gel) - Should add one more pair of sandal (we only get 1 pair) - Access from basement to lobby. But so far, it is best 4 star hotel in Jember.

Hotel condition are clean, modern and minimalist interior, bright lighting at lobby, aisle, room and bathroom, also no carpet inside room so less dust - it's helpfull for people having allergethic. Harris Hotel, became our favourite 4 stars hotel at our destination cities. At least we have stayed at Harris Hotel at Bali Kuta, Jakarta, Bandung (2 locations) and Surabaya.

we have stayed as a family back then when our kid was 2.5 years old. by that time it was an excellent hotel (i think the best there is in batu at the time). two weeks ago, when our daughter is already 24 years old, we went back to the same hotel to meet with some family from different city. we were hesitating since the hotel would have been quite old by now, but most other newer hotel in the area were fully booked. so decided to stay in this hotel again. the hotel is now called kartika wijaya batu heritage hotel, and we realized that the hotel main building (where we stayed recently) were actually very well maintained and very clean. we learnt that the main building was actually built sometime in late 1800 or early 1900. there were no trace of "old antiquated" hotel in the rooms. obviously they have renovated and refurnished the rooms several times since then, but i think the last refurnishing of the room would have been more than 5 years ago or more but it still is in a very good conditions. this is not a modern luxorious boutique hotel but it is very good for family hotel. they have spacious greneries around the hotel compounds, the big tree in the front yard is huge and more than hundred years old. the hotel provides a very warmth family atmosphere pleasantly found in this heritage hotel and the staffs who are 100% locals are very helpful and well trained. we will go back to this hotel again if we visit batu again.

The Hotel absolutely very clean, surrounded by Hills, I think this one the best view so far I stayed. The all staff was so friendly, and my driver got morning tea and breakfast at the Hotel for free. Very thoughtful tho. Very hard find any restaurants around this hotel, but you can get in Ayam Bakar Bawangan Restaurant it's about 3km from the Hotel, the best value and good taste so far I had. Good for people's who's need relaxing place to stay about.

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at this hotel and it was very nice. Front Desk attitude was great. I forgot my ID card at the lobby and they went to my room to give it back. Variance of food was awesome. Both local and western food are available. They served JAMU as well! The sad thing only for the pool. It was too small for 4 star hotel but overall, We do really satisfied with this hotel

My friend recommend me to stay at Illira and it was the great decision that i’ve made. I stay at the top floor and the balcony are facing the ocean and coconut/palm trees. The staff super friendly and room service is at the good price. One minor: the water is smell when u open the tap for first time. but maybe it typically water facility problem. All in a, i’d say stay in Illira is best experience i can get when visit bwi

this is my first time stayed at bw oj malang, that look a new hotel in town. so i book via agoda and get the best price include breakfast. so, when arrive and checking in they serve fast and easy. they gave me a highest floor at 11 level as my request. the room was spacious with twin single bed (120x200 bed size). my room is the best view, where city and mount view with a huge windows. the bad things was very noisy when the skyroom closed at midnite, because my room was under the kitchen. everything in this hotel is nice, good staff and good breakfast too. the pool in 3 floor is little and very cold, but the kiddos was fun. if you find for wasting the nite plz check to 12 floor, it's roof top sky room and they have pretty open lounge with great view. the internet access is available in the room and all public area in the hotel, but that's little bit slow. fasten in the lobby area.

I actually unintentionally booked this hotel. I was on the trip to Bali however it was already to late and i decided to stay in this hotel. The hotel has a very beautifull decoration, i note a couple of beautifull jejer gandrung dance statue. The hotel has lot of greeneries and feel so excotic. The room was fabolous,clean and conformtable. However there is no bathtub or maybe i made a mistake on my reservation.The staffs are very nice and you can borrow a bicycle to ride it around the hotel. The pool and the playground for kids was decent. However this location is quite far from ketapang port. Althought it is very recommended,i am not sure if i will go there again since everytime i was in banyuwangi i need to cath up the boat schedule to bali as soon as possible. Otherwise,this place is perfect.

nice place and ambience. the service and staff is very helpfull. some minus is the private pool in the cottage isnt heated enough so its getting cold at night. it would be best if the pool keep heated cz its really nice to soaked at night. and some room facing towards rubbish dump so its very inconvenience and smelly. hopefully the hotel can manage it well, so the guest will feel more relaxed in the premises.

The building is new. Clean. The design is not as I expected since the hotel have "Marriott" name on its title. The design is more like for 3 star hotel. Not sophisticated at all. Bad garbage smell in the basement in the parking lot. I asked to borrow an iron, but they said they didnt have enough. And I booked for the next day to make sure I get the iron, after I complained then they got it for me. I understand it is not five star hotel which they always have iron and iron board in room. But at least they should have more for guests to use. And the service is slow. The staff seems working slowly, especially in reception area. And they always have only one receptionist and make the guests keep waiting. Breakfast is bad. Everything's cold. I prefer have my breakfast outside.
