I've been solo traveling for years, staying in hostels both here and abroad, but Pig Dive has been the absolute best so far!! I crashed there for a whole week, seven nights, and it literally had everything I needed. I work remotely, at night, and the wifi was fast and reliable. Sleeping was a dream– the bed was so comfy and spacious, with two fluffy pillows. Each bed had its own curtain for privacy. Plus, it came with a lockable compartment for valuables and two charging ports, which was a lifesaver for all my gadgets. If you're staying for a while like I did, you can even request fresh sheets and towels. Cleanliness & Amenities From the dorm room to the comfort rooms and showers, everything was almost spotless. The bathrooms even had bidets and toilet paper, which is always a win. Showers had reliable hot water (if you're into that), and they provided free shampoo/body wash, and conditioner. They even had a hair dryer and a spinner in those areas, which came in handy for drying clothes after a beach day. They've got a restobar upstairs – I ate there once when I was too beat to go out, and the food was good! There's also a cool chill-out spot on the top floor. Down the common area, you'll find a refrigerator and all the kitchenware you could need (plates, utensils, pans, you name it), so you can totally cook your own meals. The free mineral water dispenser was also cost-saving! Location & Staff Location-wise, it was fine for me. It offered the tranquility I was looking for, and they even have a free hourly shuttle to the main road and Panagsama Beach, so you just need to plan your day a bit. Honestly, some nights I even enjoyed the walk back to the hostel from Panagsama Beach – it's that manageable. Lastly, the staff. AMAZING! Every single one of them was so helpful and accommodating. They're genuinely nice to chat with and even offered suggestions for better spots, whether to work at night, or places to visit in Moalboal. My only tiny comment is that when it rains, the bullfrogs can get pretty loud, which might disturb your sleep (good thing they offer free earplugs!). If you're working at night like I do, it could potentially interrupt meetings. But honestly, with some noise-canceling gear, it's not a big deal at all. This is actually the first time I've ever written a review this long, but Pig Dive genuinely deserves it. It's an excellent hostel, and it'll be my go-to spot whenever I'm in South Cebu!
