I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mezzo Hotel in Cebu. The hotel is somewhat conveniently located, not too hard to find, but not too easy either. This slight inconvenience is easily overlooked once you experience the comfort and amenities the hotel has to offer. The accommodation was more than satisfactory. The room was spacious, easily accommodating two people. It was equipped with Wi-Fi, a TV, and a mini-fridge. The room was carpeted, adding a touch of coziness to the overall ambiance. The beds were comfortable, not overly luxurious, but certainly adequate for a good night's sleep. The rooms also offered a very nice city view, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we were not able to explore the hotel's facilities as we only stayed there overnight. However, I was impressed with the wide and uncongested parking area, which is a big plus for those traveling by car. The staff at Mezzo were friendly and professional. The service was prompt and efficient, which greatly contributed to our overall positive experience. In terms of value for money, considering the location, accommodation, facilities, dining options, and service, Mezzo offers good value. We opted for Mezzo to celebrate my niece's pool birthday party, only to find out upon arrival that the pool was undergoing renovation. Despite our intended check-in time of 2 pm, I arrived at 9 am to secure our three rooms in anticipation of a long day ahead. Although informed that the rooms weren't yet available, I requested to secure them early, understanding that we'd return later in the evening. Additionally, I asked if we could leave our luggage until our return, to which the staff kindly agreed. Upon returning at 8 pm, we were disappointed to find that our rooms were still unavailable, necessitating us to undergo the check-in process once more. Despite the inconvenience, we accepted the situation and requested adjoining rooms due to the presence of seniors among our group. Regrettably, we were informed that no such rooms were available despite our early arrival. However, despite these challenges, the staff remained remarkably accommodating. I appreciated their efforts to address our concerns promptly, including transferring us to rooms with functioning air conditioning upon request. Despite the late hour and the inconvenience of moving our belongings, the staff handled our requests with professionalism and courtesy. While this experience might give cause for hesitation, the exceptional service provided by the staff outweighs any inconveniences encountered. I commend the staff for their dedication and willingness to find solutions to our issues. Though unforeseen circumstances such as pool renovations and room availability may arise, it's the staff's response and commitment to guest satisfaction that truly matters. This slightly impersonal service could be improved. Early Check-In Policy: My request for an early check-in, just 15 minutes before the standard time, wasn’t accommodated, and I learned that early check-ins typically come with an additional charge. This might be understandable given the busy weekend crowd, but a little flexibility would’ve gone a long way. Common Area Maintenance: The hallway carpets and lounge sofas were visibly in need of better upkeep. These details detract from the otherwise clean feel of the hotel.
