This is my second time to stay at the LK Metropole Hotel, which tells you my satisfaction level. For me, it's a great location to be based for a vacation. It is surrounded by bars, restaurants, 7/11's, pharmacies, and all other sorts of entertainment venues. This is an older facility, but it has been maintained quite well. I think it's got a classical look to it; plaster crown molding details in the rooms, furniture in dark wood, full size refrigerator. The bathroom is tub only, but with a shower head on flexible hose, which suits me fine. Hot and cold water, both good, toilet worked fine, no complaints. Wifi is strong, I've got my cellphone and tablet connected simultaneously with no issues. Air conditioning works fine, I'm comfortable. I'm in room 310, a balcony room on the north side, and it is well shielded from direct sunlight, which helps with comfort. Housekeeping is doing a fine job. My stay includes breakfast, which is decent and adequate and worth using most mornings as it's included in the room cost. I like the help yourself orange juice and coffee and fruits on the breakfast bar. The in-hotel massage shop (Dwara Health Massage) has three really nice ladies who do a good service, competitively priced with shops outside. Dwara was new to me, it is in the location that was formerly a tailor. Anyway, I'm enjoying my stay at the Metropole, and will certainly consider it for future stays.
Have actually stayed here several times. Yes, it’s dated and could use renovation. But unless a few worn tiles and dated plumbing in the bathrooms, maybe some worn & marred cabinetry, and towels that aren’t bright white & fluffy like in the 5-stars bother you, I think you’ll find this place comfortable, convenient, quiet, and good value for money. Younger travelers might be unimpressed. I would not recommend it for families, because of the location and limited ability to cater to guests with kids. It’s popular and does fill up during the tourist season & holidays. Wifi works fine. Hotel is set back significantly from Soi Diana, so even front-facing rooms are pretty quiet. Most guests I see are older. If renovation ever IS undertaken, there’ll be noise, so just be on the watch for that; but as it is, those who sleep in will have no problems (room cleaners are used to working into the mid-to-late afternoons).

Right in the middle of all the action, LK Metropole is the place to stay. The cleaning staff were great. The gym was fine, the pool however I thought was a bit on the small side. It looked full with 6 people in it. Smoking on the balcony was my worst thing about my stay because the air conditioning unit was right there are was annoyingly loud. I had to turn the air con off before using the balcony. For value, I'm sure there are better value hotels in this area, Metropole being quite expensive because of its location I suppose. I would stay there again as there are also much worse places to stay for the same price.

The location is ideal, and the staff unsurpassed for professionalism, cordiality, responsiveness, and knowledge. But the material condition is deteriorating. I had to have someone come for the aircon five times. Ea time they got it going again, but only for some number of hours. In the end, after cb’s started tripping, they ordered some parts requiring 2d, came back did some major surgery, and finally got it done. But they WERE polite, prompt & professional about it every time, and the front desk DID offer to let me change rooms. I’d also had to have a tv replaced, and just sprung for some batteries for the remotes & a light bulb myself. One of the lamps didn’t work at all. You’ll find some chipped tile and bruised furnishings. But my room was comfortable & relatively quiet considering the nearness to LK Metro & nightlife surrounding the hotel. They have a breakfast buffet, but I never used it. Workout room is nicely equipped. Outdoor pool. The aircon thing was probably not all that unusual. So. If you’re looking for the Hilton, this isn’t it. But for location & basic comfort, this might work for you.

“Excellent”
When this hotel first opened, it must have been quite stunning. It’s a large building set slightly back from the street and just under a minute’s walk to Soi Buakhao. As you arrive, the impressive façade, the scale of the building, and the pool to your right all make a strong first impression. The reception area is spacious, clean, and has a pleasantly traditional charm, even if a bit dated. I stayed in a suite, which was generously sized with a separate bedroom and living area. While the room was comfortable, it did feel a little worn. Some sections of the wooden floor were missing, and the taps were slightly loose. That said, the room was well-equipped with a kettle, two TVs, a small sofa, and a table with two chairs. The air conditioning worked perfectly, so no complaints there. Breakfast was simple and straightforward. You choose how you’d like your eggs cooked, and while they’re being prepared, you can help yourself to the buffet. It’s not the largest spread, but it’s more than adequate for a satisfying meal. The hotel’s location is ideal—right in the heart of the action near Soi Buakhao and LK Metro—but it remains surprisingly quiet. I wasn’t disturbed by any noise during my stay. The staff across the board—from housekeeping to reception to the breakfast team—were all lovely and helpful. There’s also a massage room conveniently located next to the lift. When I booked, I found the pricing to be fair. With some modern upgrades, I imagine the rates would increase a bit. But as it stands, if you’re comfortable with rooms that are a little older, this is a great place to stay—and I’d be happy to return.
