Decent stay – clean and comfortable”
This decently priced, comfortable and clean hotel deserved to be recommended for all looking for a relaxed short stay in Kuala Lumpur. The beds and pillows were clean, and the toilet was spotless. There were sufficient room facilities such as 2 bottles of water bottle daily, shower and shampoo, disposable shower cap, towels etc. My allocated room was rather spacious and the view outside were just high-rise (presumably residential) buildings with lots of trees. I had chosen a non-smoking, quiet room at high level with twin beds and additional 2 more pillows for extra comfort, without any breakfast. There is a working television set with minimum number of channels to watch (probably about 10 channels only), and I managed to find entertainment in watching Channel News Asia and another channel with Chinese & Korean dramas. The other channels are all in Malay language. As my stay had coincided with Malaysia National Day, all of its channels except CNA were airing National Day speeches in Malay. The travelling duration from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 to Corus hotel is about one hour at a cost of RM 75 for Grab taxi. The hotel receptionists were very efficient and friendly with the check-in and check-out. I had to deposit RM50 upon checking-in, and that was refundable after check-out. The design and furnishings of the room are kept at its bare minimum with no fanciful decorations to admire. I do agree that this hotel is in a need for an upgrade as the rooms inside and the corridors outside the room are rather dilapidated. There is a swimming pool and an extremely small and partially malfunction gym at level 2 with hardly anyone using them in the early morning at 8am.

We had a wonderful and fantastic stay at Corus Hotel. Diana was at the front office when we checked in and immediately recognised me as we had several times stayed in Corus Hotel. She was so helpful and happy to see us and assisted to check us in. Diana was kind enough to extend to us a complimentary welcome drink at the Japanese restaurant located at the ground floor. Diana also extended us 20 percent discount coupon to dine at the Chinese Restaurant located at the 2nd floor. We took advantage of the hospitality and dined at both the Japanese and Chinese Restaurants. Food was delicious and awesome with a cozy environment. All staff were great and gave us excellent service with a smile (Karen, Elle and Mdm Phoon to name a few). Breakfast at the coffee house was great as we had so much of variety of food to choose from. One of the staff, a Pakistani gentleman (name who i cannot remember)even went out of his way to serve us tea and assisted me in carrying my food to our table. We also met the General Manager Mr Kirinjit Singh by chance who was warm and friendly and welcomed us to Corus Hotel. We noticed a lot of staff who we met previously were all there to welcome us. Staff - very accommodating and friendly, the location is great and is within the city which can be very accessible. We had a very good stay with my family in Corus, the room is very comfortable, the facilities good and maintained. Just few observation small thing that they need to clean up the glass windows for better view of the city, But overall. thank you Corus. We had a pleasant and quality stay with you. We loved the foods and your very accommodating personnel. Great job.

As my preferred hotel was changing to smoke free my staff assisted to find me a hotel that had smoking floors and was recommended Corus. Hence I booked the hotel room with a balcony in case they did not have a smoking room. Sad to say, when I arrived at the hotel, I was literally struggling with my huge luggage bag from the car boot while the bellhops were just busy chatting at their counter even though they had seen me. In the end it was my driver who came down from the car to assist. When I finally managed to get my bag and was going up the passageway then the bellhop offered his services and I rejected since they did not even bother in the first place. Upon checking in, I discovered that they had a smoking floor where I was allocated but minus my balcony. Nevertheless I accepted since the smoking floor was better for me. Alas when I got to my room, the keycard did not work and I had to go back down with my luggage to change the key. Upon entering the room I discovered that my safe was on low battery and the refrigerator ice tray was overflowing with water which shows that the housekeeping department is not doing their job well. They should check when guests are in house or checking out. The condition of the room is really worn and needs to be refurbished. The TV programs are also very pathetic with hardly any choices. The next day as it was raining I decided to have dinner at the hotel cafe. The chicken rice was highly recommended in the menu so I decided to try. There were only 2 tables besides me in the cafe and yet it took more than 45 minutes for my food to be served and my green apple juice had turned brown by that time! I must say kudos to the front desk team as they were not only efficient but friendly. They were quick to resolve issues but I did ask to see the General Manager whom somehow was in the hotel and even saw me but never acknowledged me considering the fact that I stayed there for 5 nights. I would also like to commend Aaron Thomas and Azmir F&B for their following up with all my feedback. They were the ones including the Front Desk team that made my stay more enjoyable! I would still highly recommend this hotel not because of the smoking floor but because of its exceptional location. There's a food truck park on the left of the hotel, a convenient store and nasi kandar restaurant on the right. Next to that is Avenue K where it is within walking distance to the nearest LRT station (KLCC & Ampang Park) and also an underpass to KLCC.
