We had a great stay at Bluewater Maribago! Although our first room had some issues with the Wi-Fi, the staff was quick to transfer us to another room, which made all the difference. Honestly, if you're looking for a place to unplug and relax, this resort is perfect — the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, ideal for a digital detox. The vibe throughout the resort is laid-back and relaxing. The only downside was that the store staff came across a bit stiff, and there were quite a few mosquitoes around, so I definitely recommend bringing insect repellent. Now, the highlight of our stay: the food — it was absolutely amazing! Every meal was a treat. I want to give special thanks to Lars from the morning buffet, who made sure we were seated comfortably, especially since we were traveling with our 11-month-old baby. He went the extra mile by placing us at a table with fans so our baby would be comfortable. Also, a big shoutout to Alvin from the night buffet, who went above and beyond when we asked if they could sing a birthday song for our baby. They not only sang but also surprised us with a cake and balloon — such a thoughtful gesture that really warmed our hearts. What made this stay truly special was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. They made everything feel effortless and memorable. This resort had a premium feel from the moment we arrived. The swimming pool was well-designed, perfect for both adults to unwind and kids to splash around. The beach was clean and peaceful — a lovely spot to just sit back and soak in the view. Buffet selection was generous and satisfying, and the live night performances were a real highlight — the singers were talented and even pulled off Japanese songs beautifully, which was a nice surprise. The only thing that broke the flow a little was the constant offers for water activities from the staff. I get they mean well, but I prefer to ask when I’m ready. A bit on the pricier side, yes — but for the quality, ambiance, and comfort, it felt worth the splurge.

we loved our stay here. the one who handled my check-in offered a cot for my baby and a guard rail for my toddler.. they were very thoughtful about us having small kids. enjoyed the ambiance of the place.. premium resort feel all the way.. the size of the resort was big but not too big for a family with small kids to comfortably get around. beach was beautiful compared to most of the ones i saw around the area.. the resort is well maintained.. they had one pool area under renovation but it didnt bother us too much .. our toddler enjoyed their small park on top of the beach and pool. if theres anything i could say about areas for improvement: wish they had a kiddie pool thats shallow enough for our 3 year old.. better coffee and dessert. otherwise their food was delicious. and they didnt charge extra for in room food service like the other resorts (which is a big plus for us since we dont want to eat at restaurants with an infant and a toddler who wants to run around all day). this resort is on top of our favorites now. were definitely coming back for special occasions.

Close your eyes... Now, please imagine a tropical beach resort hotel... Forget about Hawaii for a moment... That's right, keep that image... Yes! I’ve created that beach resort hotel in reality! It's that kind of hotel (?) It’s been nearly 10 years since I visited during a family trip, and I never thought I would be saving up to come back here with my wife. This review will also compare with that distant memory. First, from the airport, it takes about 25 minutes by taxi unless there is a significant traffic jam. The sound of honking horns all around, buses darting into oncoming traffic, and motorcycles racing right alongside in close proximity... This is Asia, isn't it great? Compared to 10 years ago, the roads are paved, bikers may have quirky helmet habits, but everyone wears a helmet, and the city feels brighter in a physical sense. The hotel itself, as mentioned at the beginning, is a high-quality resort hotel, featuring a private beach, about three pools on the premises, and while it's pricey, there is also a luxury spa. The main restaurant is open 24 hours, so if you don't want to step outside, you can manage most things without leaving the hotel. For our room this time, we were offered an upgrade from the initial reservation, and we got a room right in front of the private beach. There were two slightly firm double beds, a large Panasonic air conditioner, a shower (water pressure: medium to low), a bathtub, a toilet, a sink, and a closet (!) all in the same bathroom, plus a TV, refrigerator, and vanity. Each area was well cleaned. The water pressure in the shower and the inability to flush toilet paper are common in other countries. I was surprised at how quickly I got used to it—humans are indeed adaptable beings. While the beach is right in front of us, the sound of the waves is not loud, it’s calm and magnificent. The sight of the sunrise is incomparable. It’s wonderful. Regarding meals. Breakfast is served as a buffet from 6 AM to 10 AM daily. Although we did not book a breakfast-inclusive package, we were allowed to join for 900 pesos during those hours. Ten years ago, I would have feasted on rice, meat, fish, and bread from the morning… time is cruel. The taste is definitely not bad, and it’s nice to enjoy Filipino cuisine in a hygienic way. Having one experience during our stay is a good memory, but unfortunately, I couldn't manage consecutive visits for two or three days. The breakfast set with coffee and toast costs about 440 pesos for room service, and it comes with a proper meal including salad and fried eggs. If you want to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in your room while looking at the sea, I recommend this option too. They deliver it with just a phone call from the room. As mentioned earlier, the restaurant located at the heart of the hotel grounds is available 24 hours, so whether it’s day or night, they welcome you with a la carte and drink options. For this trip's itinerary, we had lunch and dinner outside the hotel, so I will refrain from reviewing those. However, I can say that if your budget allows, there’s absolutely no anxiety or dissatisfaction with dining in the hotel. I think it’s best to consider that aspect carefully. About activities. During the day, if you go to the beach, the staff will approach you to promote various activities (for a fee). Jet skis, parasailing, and banana boat rides seem to be popular. While hotel prices may be a bit high, you won’t need to move around by car, and it's relatively safe, plus there are fewer other travelers, which I consider a personal advantage. It may vary by day, but during our stay, the hotel’s pool was overwhelmingly popular, especially with families. Most people at the beach seemed to be there only for photos. Regarding activities, I’ve found that there’s astonishingly little difference compared to ten years ago. Perhaps because so many people aim for this, there’s no need to change. In summary, I felt that this hotel continues to provide a wonderful experience unchanged from ten years ago. The staff greet you with smiles every time you pass by, the reception makes efforts to communicate clearly with those of us who lack language skills, the rooms have a sense of cleanliness, and you can see a beautiful long beach and shallow sea that you won't easily find in Japan, along with delicious food and drinks (that won't upset your stomach). While costs can’t be described as cheap, as you can see from the meals and activities, you can always plan additional activities later, so I recommend keeping your initial reservation simple without overthinking it. “Perfect End to a Long Stay in Philippines ”
Today my family and I will enjoy our last day and night here at Bluewater and we are sad to go. I had really enjoyed a stay here about 10 years ago and this stay has far exceeded our expectations in everyday. The staff has been so accommodating, the food and service is spectacular, and the rooms are even better than I remembered. The HUGE bathroom has been a real hit. The tub is amazing and I hope to get my chance in it before the day is done. I sincerely appreciate the front desk accommodating my request for a bottom floor, which was a Huge help, as we have about 8 suitcases. We have been here a month, but my family also brings Way to much stuff 😆 The location, room 307, was in a perfect quiet spot near the pool a d the hotel entrance. When we arrived, there was a thunderstorm and you managed to check us in will all of our belongings without a hitch. The umbrellas were plentiful and fortunately we haven't needed them again. Special thanks to Amon who has not only served us at the buffet, but delivered our room service twice, promptly cleaned up our mess, and masterfully host my wife's Large family at the buffet our 1st night. Her family, without question, had the most Lavish dinner of their lifetimes. The have spent the past 48 hours, chatting about it and posting picture after picture. Your whole team has created great memories and Bluewater will now be the 1st and last place we stay on our next visit to Cebu. Regards, Ziegler Family
