Like the Thailand of old”

We finished up our month-long trip to Thailand at Bottle Beach 1 on the recommendation of other travellers we'd met. Turns out it was the highlight of our time. I haven't been to Thailand in about 20 years and wow, the country has changed. We were disappointed by both Koh Tao and Koh Samui - felt that the beaches were dirty, the accommodations were overpriced and everyone was out to make a buck off us (understandable, but still annoying). The backpackers are too much for us - partying and drinking and just...well...too much. Bottle Beach 1 was the perfect respite. It was quiet, well run, basic, clean and friendly. The staff are awesome and clearly happy. They went out of their way to make sure we (and our kids) had a good time. We relaxed, we swam, we ate, we read, we slept. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot. Huge shout out, in particular to Ae and Tu. They are awesome! We'd go back in a heartbeat, which is more than I can say for the rest of the spots we visited while in Thailand. Keep up the good work ....

The best beach and the best people on the island”

I cannot relate to any of the negative reviews stated here, Bottle beach 1 is amazing because the staff are super friendly and kind to us and the children and heaps of fun! Ive been traveling for 3 years independently in my life and I can honestly say that this is the beach beach front holiday destination for families I have seen. We booked Bottle beach 1 for 8 days and we have had more and more fun because we have got to know the staff more and more, so sweet and kind to us and our children. Beach is superb, beautiful and we hear from many people that this is the best beach on the island. No crazy parties, no loud music anywhere, just a nice chilled vibe with wonderful food. Our 3 kids aged 5,8 an 10 have come to love shaggy, ko and teddy and all the other people here at Bottle Beach 1. Next time we come back to Thailand, we are coming back here, guaranteed.

Fabulous resort”

We absolutely loved our stay at bottle beach resort. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was nice and good value for money, the room was spacious and clean, showers were piping hot. Bottle beach was in a beautiful location which seemed very private. Note that the resort is practically speaking only accessible by boat so if you want to go back to Koh Pha-ngan you will need to use (and pay for) the long boat taxis (which stop at around 5pm from memory). But we personally didn’t want to leave As we loved every second of our stay.

Exceptional”

Gorgeous, out-of-the-way paradise! Perfect for a quiet getaway with a beautiful white sand beach and clean clear water. Great pool for a change from the beach, the rooms were clean with nice bathrooms (good showers!). The staff was always pleasant and helpful and will help book travel and tours if needed. The wifi was a bit of a pain as you need to keep signing in, but it was a small price to pay. The restaurant is a bit pricier than the restaurants on either side, but the food we had at Bottle Beach 1 was yummy. And you can eat at any restaurant you want along the beach (there are 4). I stayed here with my 14-year-old daughter and we had originally only booked 2 nights, but my daughter wanted to stay longer so we extended it to 4 nights. So glad we made the effort to get to bottle beach!

no pool :( but the best beach there is!”

unfortunately the pool was out of service, but the management told us it gets fixed in december for high season and it sounded more complicated. besides that, the bungalows were easy, but super super clean!!! the cleaning lady does a superb job. when someone checked out next to us you could always see her clean the room for like an hour with door open, cleaning everything inside. The Bungalows were and are being renovated right now, so you get a clean bungalow, direclty on the beach, with a new roof and fan, a nice hammock and a superb bathroom (no warm water! but we don't care about that as it's hot in thailand anyway ;) ). the staff was friendly and helpful at any time (except when they were doing their inventory at the end of the month (office was closed around 20:30 already and since there are no markets or anything, you can't buy cigarettes or beer or ice cream anywhere else). the wifi was broke for a few days, so -2 stars for facilities (1 pool, 1 wifi). But with smile bungalows and bottle beach 1 you have a perfect accomodation on bottle beach, depending on what you want. we will come back for sure, thank you again and good luck :)

Love! Love, love the hammock on little deck!”

Bottle Beach 1 is the best choice for really reasonable beach front accommodation - we absolutely LOVED it! The little huts on the beach clean and basic - the biggest plus is the hammock on the little deck. While there's no air conditioning, there is a fan & a mosquito net around the bed, so you can open the windows. As well, there's no hot water, but the climate is so warm, you don't need a "hot" shower - room temperature shower works well! The only down side is you can't (or couldn't when we were there) rent a motorbike & drive to the property due to the rough road leading to property (requires 4x4). This isn't a big issue - you can take a longtime boat from the beach over to the little town for 100 baht per person (or hike to town - 1 hr) & rent a motorbike for the day for 200 baht to explore the island. Really though, this is such a beautiful beach & a wonderful place to relax. We hope to have a week next time!

Fabulous stay on a beautiful beach.”

Bottle Beach 1 resort is in the middle of beautiful Bottle Beach. The staff are wonderful, we had an ant infestation in the room on arrival and the staff jumped into action immediately, problem solved. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, however the wifi was sub standard. The gardens are fabulous....all in all I terrific stay a and I can thoroughly recommend.

Isolated paradise ”

This is really a remote area of ko Phanang and you need to come in on a long tail boat. Makes the stay very peaceful. There are 4 places to stay at bottle beach, we chase bottle beach 1 because we had seen it last year. It certainly has not disappointed. Some of the reviews talk about rude unhelpful staff, I don't know what these people were expecting but everyone has been friendly and helpful. There are only a few staff so you can't expect them to drop everything and attend to you immediately, but you don't come here to be in a hurry. It really is an isolated paradise.

We could stay forever”

We were a group of three families. One Family took the beachfront Family villa. other two the garden view spa bath. This review is for beachfront Villa. The room was clean and nice arranged. It looked quite new. The only thing we did not like that much is that you don't have space to store your belongings, like a coset or shelf The best part was obviously the view and location. Just amazing. The best thing is that the resort is quite tricky to reach so it is very quiet but you still have enough possibilities to eat. There are 3 other resorts on this beach all of them have a restaurant. There is no motorbike rental there. The street to the resort is really very bad. You can arrive with the taxi boat as well. We were there during the full moon party period. If you avoid this season you get reasonable prices for the villa. Staff was really very nice. We enjoyed our stay very much and will come again.

enjoyable resort stay”

it's located at the other end of koh phangan, and you'd have to take the taxi boat out to get to the main part of the island. it is cool if you just wanna enjoy a resort stay/ beach vacation. you'd have to get insect repellent before going on the beach though, there are mosquitoes. the staff are very friendly and motherly. they organised transport to the full moon party and made sure to warn us not to drink too much and take care of our valuables. the dorm was clean and it was really a great experience.

Quirky, cozy, cool”

Had a great time! Friends recommended it to us who have been coming back to the same place for years. The staff is super friendly, if a little quirky. You might not get exactly what you ordered, but they will also sit down with you when taking your order and probably serenade you on the guitar at some point. ;-) Very different rooms - we were in the B bungalows, which weren't directly on the beach, but were great. Our friends stayed in the A bungalows, which are directly on the beach, and those seemed wonderful, too. Don't come to Bottle Beach if you're expecting to party or something - come if you're looking for a place to relax, work on your tan, read a book, maybe play some poker with the staff when they get off work in the evening, get a massage, drink a fruit shake and repeat... We'll be back...

Lovely hotel, Ideal setting”

Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, unfortunately our AC was not working well on the first day so we were upgraded to a lovely room on our 2nd day. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The setting is ideal, Bottle Beach 1 has a prime spot - centre of the bay. It was great to have access to the pool and massages. We would definitely return and recommend to others

Very nice room. But very load Generator on the back”

We were traveling as a group. this is the review for the cottage with spa bath. As mentioned in the review before. Location is great, the staff is awesome, the beach is a dream. The water in the pool was muddy. Rooms are much bigger than the beach front villa. very stylish and confortable. A lot of space and a lot of space to store your belongings. There is a big BUT. Just behind our rooms B7 and B8 is a huge generator which is working almost 24 hours and its very loud. We definitivly recomend this resort but stay away from this two rooms if you don't like noise. Because of the full moon party, we had to stay in these rooms and sleep with earplugs.It's a pitty because the rooms are very nice.

Lovely!”

We had a lovely stay at Bottle Beach 1! The room was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice big pool and a beautiful beach. Feels like the real Thailand. A little bit hard to get to and from this area; but since you know that in advance; it's not a problem! We can't wait to come back here again!

Amazing place, amazing people”

This hotel was one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in and so cheap. A downside to the hotel is that it's very far away from the likes of the full moon party if that's what you're there for, however we found this no issue as there's a jeep service from the hotel, it just costs more then other hotels would. We couldn't have been more happy with this place, it felt like our own private island with the most beautiful beach. The staff were amazing, all smiles all day. Teddy our waiter at the hotel restaurant in particular was amazing. Such a friendly person to everyone and always had time for a chat to make you feel so welcome and comfortable. The food is beautiful also and reasonably cheap. They have a selection too if you're sick of Thai food and just want a burger or pizza. The rooms were pristine and felt like what you would get in a 5 star resort. The pool is also great, really decent size but you don't really need it with such an amazing beach at your doorstep.

Sociable, private and lovely!”

I loved staying at bottle beach! Me and my 2 friends stayed here for 3 nights in a dorm of 12 and met so many nice people! The private beach is awesome.. No looky looky men and loads of space! The location isn't as bad as it seems as the hotel puts on taxis or boats for you wherever you go.. We went to the full moon and jungle party and the staff did body paint on us and all sorts! Would say don't stay here for ages as there's only really a beach and viewpoint to visit in the days, and limited restaraunts and shops! But for a few days it was great!

Excellent”

Pros: Location is great, the Bottle Beach is amazing. Staff is very helpful and friendly, they really do their best. Very good massage. Beautiful garden. Very clean area. Spacious bungalows. Cons: Power generator in the back of the garden that works 24h and is really noisy. It`s a pity because garden is beautiful and bungalows are great. We could not stand noise and were relocated to a beach front bungalow (agoda customer service was very helpful!). It turned out perfect. Only american breakfast is included when booking through agoda which was very disappointing, but we were allowed to replace it with other items from the menu. The mattress was in a pretty bad shape but we turned it upside down which worked well. Wifi in our bungalow was weak. But overall experience was really good!

Welcome to Paradise ”

We went to Bottle Beach to switch off for five days and found it the perfect retreat. The beach with the jungle mountains backdrop is awesome and we went night swimming several times because the phosphorescence there are really bright. We switched up eating at one of the 4 other little places, food was tasty and not too expensive considering how exclusive it feels. The staff at the hotel were lovely too!

Right place to do a lot of nothing”

Great staff, like a big family. Bungalows in all shapes and sizes from beach to garden. Bottle Beach is a great place to calm down and do a lot of nothing. If you are looking for the usual half/full moon crazieness, this is not your place, but they offer taxis for that matter. Some hiking places are around the beach. If you want to make a daytrip to somewhere on the island, staff will help you. You can also book tickets for further travels at the counter. And do not forget to book a great massage at the beach.

Secluded beach front”

Great location. No warm shower/water. We didn’t have a mosquito net in our room but we saw some in the other rooms. Schedule your ride to the resort a day ahead bc you get there by boat or a 4 wheel drive car. Taxis can’t take you there bc it’s over the mountains and bumpy. We had a great time. No night life, but a lot of beach to yourself during the day. It was beautiful and great price.
